Chocolates and roses are the perfect Valentines day treats, but what’s better than a sweet Valentines day treat that will keep you energized and looking nice? Put the chocolates down and go for a handful of this tasty snack. Valentines day is all about the love, so why not love your body? I’m always excited about trying different combinations of trail mix. I love the mix of sweet and salty together. Here is the list of ingredients I used to put together this festive snack:
-peanuts
-dried cranberries (any other dried fruit works too)
-vanilla chips
-granola
-drak chocolate almonds
-pretzels
This snack is quick and easy to put together. Almonds are the lowest-calorie nuts you could eat. The ones I used (not so much) are dipped in dark chocolate to add some Valentine spirit. They are probably one of my favorite snacks to eat because they are packed full of nutrients and yummy. As a vegetarian I had to look for ways to get protein and almonds were such a good option. Peanuts are also high in protein and folate, a B vitamin. The granola is a perfect source of fiber and will make you feel full, longer. Whole grain oats will complement your digestion system. I love granola in cereal, but it can also can accompany trail mix.
